Prisoner under psychological and physical pressure Despite critically dire condition, Sunni political prisoner, Qassem Abasteh has been denied medical care in Gohardasht prison, west of Tehran. He has been experiencing severe pain of his kidneys for past few days but has been denied professional medical assistance outside the prison. Sources informed of his condition say his health has deteriorated so much that there are fears of him losing his life. Qassem was arrested in Feb. 2010 and was placed in the solitary for months under harsh torture.
