Iran: families of Sunni Kurdish pol prisoners rally outside prison west of Tehran
Families of Sunni Kurdish political prisoners, whose loved ones are held in solitary confinement awaiting their execution in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, staged rallies from midnight of Monday, June 16th outside this prison protesting and demanding the death sentences of their loved ones to be revoked. They also want their loved ones to be transferred back to the general ward in Gohardasht Prison.
Dozens of people participated in this protest, including 9 month old babies and 80 year old mothers and fathers. The 7 year old child of Hamed Ahmadi, one of the prisoners awaiting execution, was also seen outside the prison. Many of the elderly had become too tired going from one prison to another trying to save their loved ones. On the other hand, Iranian regime agents continue to pressure, threaten and harass these family members.
