US airstrikes target Khorasan group near Aleppo
According to the Pentagon, US airstrikes Monday evening also targeted another group called Khorasan apparently allied with al-Qaida near Aleppo, Syria.
CNN said although this is still a evolving story, but according to the Pentagon the US launched about 8 airstrikes near Aleppo, western Syria last night. Aleppo is the other side of the country from where ISIS is located. The Syrian regime air deference in that part of the country is very strong according the CNN.
CNN added the Khorasan group targets that the US on its own hit included an explosives ammunition’s production facility, a communication’s building and command & control facility. One senior US official said that the US indeed had very good information and intelligence that the Khorasan group was engaged in active imminent plotting against western targets, including possibly US targets. The official didn’t say these possible US targets were actually inside US or perhaps an embassy of other US facilities oversees. But they had the information that Khorasan group was plotting to come after western targets.
